It wasn't great, I'll give it a "very good". It started out slow and it took me a while to get into it but when it started going (a little past the half mark), it got really interesting. The book contains some truly funny moments which are balanced out by its darker parts. The major characters are interesting and for the most part likable, although Armstrong draws heavily from archetypes. Elena is a unique, strong and sympathetic heroine in both conventional and unconventional ways, and I found her a fascinating character study. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of the novel’s bad guys; here Armstrong drives into stereotype territory, relying on common notions of evil. It's a light, undemanding read, full of neat werewolf bits, plenty of action, and a good relationship story.
