Reading is my drug. I love to get lost in a great book to escape into worlds that are usually much cooler than mine! >.<

My Sister's Keeper

My Sister's Keeper - Umm… OH MY GOD!! That was the most INTENSE ending I have EVER read, and seeing how this is my 65th book this year, that is saying something! And man, the end could not have been any more different from the movie's. I was told that it was different but jeez!!!!This is one of the reasons I love Picoult : her ability to make shocking endings. And I mean full on, no mercy, you will probably have heart palpitations - kind of shocking. Some of them are predictable, though not many (that I have read), but this one I absolutely did NOT see coming. I hated it, I wanted to scream and cry that it couldn't end that way, I hated Picoult with every fibre of my being, but then I mourned, and now I realize that really, it was a perfect ending and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way, and I gave an extra star just for it. (Seriously, who thought the movie ending didn't suck balls? Boooring). This was not my first Picoult book. I have enjoyed a few of her other great novels (19 minutes was the best), but I was going to skip this one since I had seen the movie and didn't particularly like it - It was too much of a sob fest for me, which made it worse by my seeing it in a theatre full of loud whimpers - annoying or what? But after reading reviews that convinced me I had to read it anyways, promising me I would Love it - well I'm very happy that I did, and they were right. I hate movies that are just made to make you cry (and some people love that shit?), but this book is much more than just depressing. It's about seemingly impossible obstacles. It's about taking what life throws at you and punching it in the face. It's about a little girl, who just wants to be heard for once.Picoult can really make some great powerful characters. The chapters are divided into different character's point of view, that way you get to know each one on a personal level. You understand their situations and the drive behind the decisions they make. I really loved every character of this book. Every one.
